At SCS, the academicprogramme incorporates the core aspects of the National Curriculum of England. The mission is to provide high quality education aimed at nurturing the development of the"total child"while imparting a solid foundation in basic subject areas.
The management of SCS consists primarily of British and other European nationals who possess excellent qualifications and have a good understanding of local traditions, culture and values. SCS currently has approximately 160 teachers and 40 staff members, all of high calibre, on its muster and a student strength of over 1200 from classes KG1 to G9. All subjects other than Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies are taught in English. Additionally, there are special classes for non-Arabs.
It is integral to the school's aim to instill confidence, self-esteem, moral values and life skills in every pupil. In tandem, parents areencouraged to be part of their children's' progress. SCS has introduced into the school system a unique log-in facility for parents that allow them to monitor their child's development and stay in touch with teachers via the Internet. This committed partnership has enabled a safe and nurturing environment where pupils are helped to achieve their full academic and extra-curricular potential.
In 2004, the Ministry of Education selected SCS among all British curriculum schoolsin Dubai and Sharjah as being one of two outstanding examples in the country for its curriculum and the selection of its books.
